A Better Way to Practice Pediatric Therapy

At Wee Speak Therapy & Learning Center, we believe a better way to practice starts with supporting our therapists. Our clinic is built around the idea that clinicians do better work when they’re supported, connected, and able to focus on what actually helps their patients.

If you’re ready for a better work environment where you can grow and nurture your passion for pediatric therapy, we encourage you to apply. We’re always looking to connect with clinicians who want to grow and do meaningful work.

A Message from Our Owner

The Mission Behind Our Work

We help every child reach their full potential.

We do this through play-based, family-centered therapy that focuses on real-life skills and collaborative care. As a team, we work closely with families to build outcomes that carry over into everyday life.

The Philosophy That Guides Our Treatment

We believe therapy works best when it’s built on connection, engagement, and real-life function. Our sessions are child-led and play-based, but they’re also intentional. We focus on helping children build skills they can actually use in their daily lives, not just in structured settings. That means thinking beyond checklists and working toward meaningful progress for each child and family.

Just as important is how we work as a team. Our therapists regularly talk through cases, share ideas, and support each other when something isn’t working. If you’re stuck, you’re not on your own—you have a team you can turn to for input, problem-solving, and new approaches.

Meet Peni, Founder of Wee Speak

Wee Speak Therapy & Learning Center was founded by Peni Satterfield, a speech-language pathologist with more than 30 years of experience working with children and families.

Her path into this field started with her own family. When her oldest son was born with a cleft palate, she experienced firsthand how difficult it could be to find the right kind of support, especially when it came to feeding and early development. That experience led her to pursue speech-language pathology with the goal of helping other families access the care they need.

As an owner, Peni is hands-on and highly involved with her team. Her door is always open, and she encourages therapists to collaborate, ask questions, and learn from each other. The most important part of this work, in her eyes, is seeing that progress happen—both for the families we serve and for the therapists growing in their roles.

Why Choose to Work with Us?

At Wee Speak Therapy & Learning Center, we’ve built a culture around collaboration, support, and doing the kind of work that actually makes a difference.

Therapists here don’t work in isolation. If you’re working through a challenging case, you have a team you can turn to—whether that’s someone in your discipline or another therapist who’s seeing the same child. Sharing ideas, asking questions, and problem-solving together is part of the day-to-day, not something extra you have to carve out time for.

We also recognize that the work can be demanding, so we’ve built in structures to make it more manageable. This includes dedicated documentation time, realistic expectations, and flexibility in scheduling. At the end of the day, this is a place where you can do meaningful work, continue to grow, and feel supported by the people around you.

Opportunities to Learn, Grow, and Lead

We support therapists in building their skills and developing areas of interest within pediatric therapy. If there’s a specific area you enjoy (whether that’s feeding, sensory work, vision, or another specialty) we encourage you to explore it. As your skills grow, we work to help you build a caseload that reflects your strengths and interests.

As the practice continues to grow, there are also opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, including mentorship and leadership roles within the team.
